The Raj Bhowmik Back To Society DREAM TEAM visited Bangalore (Deaf Children) & Hyderabad (Blind Young Adults) to sprinkle CORPORitual
CORPORitual Values Of Living
HOPE In Action @ SKID, Bangalore
Soulbath Peace Foundation TEAM visited the Shiela Kothvala Institute for the Deaf in Bangalore to observe the World Disability Day. We engaged with Grade 3 students and as expected they were not 8- 9 years old. Children were nearly 11 – 14 years of biological age and yet all in Grade 3 as hey are brought into the school from Poor sections of Society where Schooling for Deaf Children is still a challenge. Awareness and acceptance among parents is also a reason for this. So we were with multiple abilities and levels of learning and doing a CORPORitual Storytelling Session. The story revolved around Hope and how Hope in Action makes us follow our instincts that help us adapt & act. Children understood & realized the difference between hope and being passive and Hope in action.
SKID has been closely associated with Soulbath Peace Foundation for many years and so a basic level of trust was in built with the teachers who supported in translating into sign language.
Children then depicted Hope In Action from their environments and everyday life through visual media & we all learned about CORPORitual Values Of Living and Hope in sign language and living it through the story.

RB-BTS DREAM Volunteer (Bangalore)Speaks:
The CORPORitual sprinkling happened through RB-BTS Dream at Sheila Kothavala Institute Of Deaf on the occasion of World Disability day. It was a really beautiful experience to enter a noise free , sound free zone of the Deaf children at SKID. Thank you for what unfurled as a silent , yet lovely transaction of feelings & expressive ideas while living the RB-BTS dream @ SKID.
When I entered the hall the Story session had already begun , and all were so deeply engrossed in the story ..the teachers translating it with same enthusiasm...A few kids were so differently abled that they could not comprehend what was going on , but did feel immensely happy to be in that place.. It was indeed a unique experience , more so because I realized that the children & the adults with the hearing disability are so much in contact with their inner worlds that , the peace comes out through their eyes & actions. They were all so creative & a few even had a wonderful way of expressing with their body language ...They argued , disagreed , asked questions, threw tantrums, expressed their likes , dislikes & happiness , so promptly..One of the child even was sure that he is going to go to "U.S." one day & that too in an Aeroplane... Such were their dreams ...It was really amusing to see one child make a poster of a family with the FATHER occupying a central space...mom in the helping & comfort space & children in a happy space ..all holding hands together .... This spoke of the environment they were coming from , where dreams & happiness had no limits.
Compassion & the need to reach out was present in each one of the child there..it became evident when during one of the Role plays a child was asked to play the role of a sad , hopeless person , walking all alone... Immediately when asked ..who would like to become his friend ... one child rushed forward & held his hand compassionately & walked happily with him ...If this is not compassion then what is? Yes, but what the CORPORitual sprinkling helped in was in the shift that that Hope is something which should not be hoped for but it is something which has to be given to others... This was something which was new to them ... help & empathy was in abundance amongst them all ..what was afresh was the need to reach out to more in a hopeful & happy state & then move forward together,,,, It was a "feel" space & the workshop & this approach was new even to the teachers there..who at first were more into literal translation of the story ..but later on with the model role play by a Deaf teacher ( a DRAMATICS Teacher @SKID) about hopeful situations & HOPE IN ACTION ... brought about the shift . It was then that the teacher realized that its time to shift from being happy & hopeful to spreading the cheer...(Or wasn't it just in time for the cheer to spread the CORPORItual way ... a few weeks before Christmas!! I wonder.)
THANK YOU , SOULBATH Peace Foundation for ushering me into this fresh & silent world of the Deaf . They are deaf to the outside chaos .. but are completely in tune with their inner free worlds & Peace Centres As one of the teachers present there told in a very empathetic way that " The things which eggs me on to do more for these kids is the fact that we , the teachers are the only connect & source of their knowledge about the outside world" .....
What was done today was to bring about a balance between the two worlds --- the outer & the inner...through the platform called RAJ BHOWMIK BACK TO SOCIETY DREAM..Gratitude SPF, for this day @ SKID....
Thanks

CORPORitual for Visually Impaired
Young Adults at Hyderabad
RB-BTS DREAM TEAM at Sai Nethra Foundation, Hyderabad
Raj Bhowmik 742
On the occasion of the World Disability day the CORPORitual essence reached a blind home called Sai Nethra Foundation in Hyderabad. This place provides food, accommodation and education to the visually challenged individuals making them ready to be independent, earn and live on their own. There were 12 visually challenged adults, all of them aspiring for big dreams and three care takers. They shared their dream of getting through Groups, becoming a teacher, being software professional and all of them were working towards making their dreams true. It was a right place in the sense the place which needed the CORPORitual essence the most and the right time when the individuals were getting ready to face the world , entering the corporate life and this is where exactly the essential values for the fast paced era fits in.
The workshop was conducted with a gratitude note to Sri Raj Bhowmik and an introduction to Soulbath Peace Foundation. All the participants were seated on the floor in a circle and their enthusiasm shown as smiles on their faces. The entire workshop was very interactive with each one giving their valuable inputs and brain storming each value of living in detail. The workshop stretched beyond the estimated time to facilitate all the discussions as they were really value adding. A simple exercise was done after discussing the first value of living ‘Meet yourself in silence’ where the participants were made to sit in silence and focus on their inner feelings for different inputs. The feedback for the exercise was really awesome. There was a special glow on everyone’s face and all of them said that they were at peace. One of them thanked Soulbath Peace Foundation for coming to them and reconnecting her back to the peace centre. The CORPORitual value of living -2 ‘Manifest your purpose of existence’ was discussed and all of them could relate to the work they loved the most and the happiness it gives when we do the work we love. The CORPORitual value of living -3 ‘Practice Compassion’ was discussed in context to the need of being compassionate to self and to the environment and how compassion to self and the environment adds real value to the living. The CORPORitual value of living -4 ‘Forgive and bury the past’ was discussed in the context of how energy stays back even after the incident gets over and how we keep pumping in the same energy each time we remember the incident. Elaborate discussion was done on how to move on in life without carrying burden and how forgiving is the easiest way to move on in life. This was followed by a visualization where the participants held hand in hand and connected to their passions in life , forgiving the past and moving on to a beautiful future.
The workshop was concluded thanking the participants, management of the Sai Nethra Foundation and the Soulbath Peace Foundation team. All the participants invited the Soulbath Peace Foundation again, and each one personally thanked the Founder for such a wonderful message on this day.
