41 Management students were part of a churning CORPORitual that helped them experience Silence and question their Purpose of Life. Soulbath Peace Foundation was invited to Bangalore’s prestigious Sir MVIT College.
Being a student & the memories that we carry have significant impact on our self worth & self belief. At this prime time, we enroll ourselves in programs following somebody else’s footsteps. During that period of 3 -4 years, we have something to look forward to as the University schedules keep us busy. However what happens to Life after that? What are the impacts of choices that we make in life during our Youth?
These were some questions that the CORPORitual Session addressed. Being young, the level of optimism and enthusiasm is high. However, if our Purpose of Life is directed from materialistic pursuits, Success consumes us in that domain of “Never Being enough and always wanting more.” When students were questioned about what was their vision for themselves in 5 years, very few had an answer, some were confused and most did not even attempt.
Our school and family systems often don’t teach us to question our habits of thinking and being. Conditioning and being in the peer group & race, blind folds us. This makes us confused & ‘running after’ during life’s changing situations. Most of the life we are coping with situations rather than taking charge of situations and taking charge either happens through a crisis or when one is old. It surely at any stage begins with oneself. This was the CORPORitual message encouraging and helping the students identify their uniqueness by taking the first step. Once they were comfortable with who they are, that is when they can give 100% of who they are to the environment. The CORPORitual Message was about implementing to the dynamic situations in our life that are bound to change and surely one needs a clean the slate each time to begin new. The students understood that not all situations go according to the plan and how leaders who are innovators have a larger vision that weaves their uniqueness into it.
Management students understood the difference between performing and innovating to lead. One of the questions were about dealing with somebody who thinks “I am OK. But You are not.
There are practical life situations when we often respond just from how we are feeling towards somebody in a relationship. But the magical CORPORitual Mantra creates a calm & grounded way of living life where one clearly can understands what the other person needs at the root. Sri Raj Bhowmik in his poems has taught us deeply about the basic need of a human. Our conditioning when we have not been approved and accepted as children creates a defensive and resentful trait in our Fragrance. This Fragrance lingers on at work, in family and in all relationships with ourself and others around us. Surely others in the environment such as peers, colleagues & family would find it hard to deal with someone who has always been resentful and criticizing. The CORPORitual Mantra of understanding that there is always an option to begin with a clean slate & the magic is this moment “NOW” helps anyone to turn over a new leaf.
As Sri Raj Bhowmik in a nurturing manner guides us to introspect in the CVOL Film, “Are You Paying attention to the teacher?”, management students at Sir MVIT understood that Life’s patterns remain the same and just paying attention to the feedback it is giving to us can clearly tell us about our reference point. That’s where the questioning & burning desire to succeed consumes an individual and when that is done for a larger good such as a community/ family/ company then the joy of success has a unique flavor that is truly leaving back one’s footprints on this planet.
This has been our reflection and our journey through the wonderful CORPORitual session at Sir MVIT.
The Founder Sri M. Visvesvaraya whose vision was accuracy & planning using his knowledge and using the model of the product designed towards the larger good of society has been from a CORPORitual Foundation and surely students in his Institute also carry the unique Fragrance and have the opportunity of being directly in touch with the passion to serve Society by being 100% useful just like the Founder himself.
