The RB-PFP Movement Reaches Munekolalu Slum Children
Raj Bhowmik 538
The Raj BhowmikBack-To-Society DREAM TEAM visited the Monekolalu Slums in Bangalore. The RB-BTS DREAM TEAM comprised of Children Aged 12 and Age 7 on a community engagement program during their Dussera Holidays. The children were inspired by Sri Raj Bhowmik's Global Peace Mission and wanted to participate by making their time meaningfully useful as part of Back-To-Society. They were accompanied by their Family members.

When we reached the first slum at 9.00 today morning, the children were sitting for their breakfast. Their mother very eagerly laid out a mat for all of us too..where we placed the RBPFP bags, milk packets & apples & began to talk to them about our purpose of coming to them. We spoke about how we are messing up the earth by using plastic & carelessly throwing them around...thus suffocating the earth & the vegetation too. They all nodded in agreement... They agreed that yes indeed its a mess around...& looked around & didn't like their surroundings...which was littered with plastic... To that we told them how recycle & reuse Will be useful & the role of cloth bags in it. Why using cloth bags is important & who makes them... At that some children also began spelling the name RAJ BHOWMIK by reading it on the bag... They were not only pretty happy to to receive the bags with eatables ...but one of the child even said that many" we don't like it either...but didn't know what to do? ...now we shall use cloth bags & tell the same to elders too.."!
Their mom even asked the eldest of the lot .... a girl child named Jeevana to accompany us to various other slums too...so that many more hear us out..Jeevana took us to two more such dwellings. A 9 month old girl child was the only young one in the second slum...but almost 7-8 adults surrounded us to hear us talk about the Raj Bhowmik Plastic Free planet & our objective of reaching out to them.
The third slum had 5 more children. They all sat down...while Jeevana & a Construction supervisor translated what we spoke. It was an Action that carried immense responsibility. It carried the vision of our Founder of a Plastic Free planet...to the construction labourers ' children. It reached out with an objective that the grassroots are capable & open to change.... its just that every opportunity has to be tapped to be reach out to them...there is an ocean of acceptance waiting there with smiles which are indeed a mile long ! Thank You Soulbath Peace Foundation for giving this unique opportunity of reaching out to the downtrodden with the message of our Founder.. Through the RB-PFP bags. Their smiles & the sparkle in their eyes humbled all three of us.
