The Raj Bhowmik Leadership Camp
Voice of Shreyan Duggal (Age 12, RB Lead C Participant & Lead Co Facilitator)
"I learnt to be patient- when the children don’t understand, to create new ideas by creating things, that Leadership is all about to lead people through
difficulties & There is no
‘I’ in the word group."
Glimpses from the RB-PFP Camp
The Raj Bhowmik School Of Leadership For Children had its first Winter Camp in New Delhi and our theme was to look at Sustainable ways to dispose Garbage and use of Cloth Bags. This was an initiative as part of the Raj Bhowmik Plastic Free Planet Movement.

Founder Director of Anubhav Learning Centre, Delhi’s first CORPORitual School
Head SAHHEAL Counseling Centre, New Delhi (www.sahheal.com)
There were 19 children in the group that participated in the Raj Bhowmik School Of Leadership Kids Camp as in New Delhi. We have been conducting programs in the past at the Anubhav Learning Centre but there was different feel in this session.
The RB- LEAD C Facilitator connected instantly and wonderfully with children. The Harmony Song did a great job on the freezing and bonding the group. It generated the momentum. Team spirit was at full play. It was a great opportunity for children to voice their thoughts and feelings. The CORPORitual session moved so fast that children felt very energized all through 2 hours. They were pretty comfortable parting from their friends and working with others. The process enabled them to stay focused and there was no diversion.
Each and every child received an equal opportunity to share their points. There was no dominance by a few. Children very clearly understood the role of the leader and what traits they need to have to be a good and effective leader - ability to listen, connect with others, give every person an equal chance, seek every member's participation , encouraging and supporting team members. They could work with swiftness and could accomplish the task in two hours. It was very encouraging to see children's active participation; Several of our day care children spoken in a completely new way as they did in the session. Raj Bhowmik School Leadership Camp was truly a platform to capture their abilities and nurture them in the right direction.
Even though the topic chosen was environment based talking about the Raj Bhowmik Plastic Free Planet Message on which there is immense focus in their respective schools, the learning approach was very effective thereby sustaining the learning. Children learnt the fundamentals of creating an effective poster. The gears were shifted so fast, that there was no moment of idleness. Overall, it was an enriching experience for one and all. The process kept pace with kids energy and they were truly engaged in the learning process.
We definitely look forward to more such initiatives where the Raj Bhowmik Leadership Curriculum can reach children from other schools as well.

I became a Leader and I learnt that:
1. Friendship – when I saw children work together
2. To love- the world
3. Not to waste polythene bags- but reuse them
4. To be patient- when the children don’t understand
5. To teach- new things
6. To understand things- by learning
7. Create new ideas- by creating things
8. Leadership is all about to lead people through difficulties
9. To create – posters by reusing old paper & not to waste paper
10. Include all people in the group
There is no ‘I’ in the word group.
