CORPORitual Parenting
Community Workshop
@ Prestige Wellington Park, Bangalore
Bridging The Language
Between Parents & Children
Raj Bhowmik 117
Sri Raj Bhowmik’s soul filling CORPORitual Essence reached Prestige Wellington Park to 85 participants. In an intense 2.5 hour engagement, participants ranged from Age 6 – 55 in the room, some from Bangalore and some on holidays from different parts of the country.
Being touched by the Essence of Sri Raj Bhowmik, Rehman and Meera inspired by the work at Raj Bhowmik School of Leadership for Children invited the CORPORitual Team. This time sprinkling awareness amongst their friends and neighbours at their community about transformation and awareness, a anew way of Living Life contributing a little more usefully. Meera, a phsychologist and Professor at a college in Bangalore was inspired by Sri Raj Bhowmik’s Work to carry it forward to children in the community. In her words, “Anything that I can do to contribute in children’s lives, I will be happy.”
CORPORitual Values Of Living and its importance on the family bonding and communication was discussed in depth by children at Raj Bhowmik Schools where they focused on the Gadget v/s human relationship. How tantrums are just another way of communicating and what one means by it and how communication is enhanced by doing simple chores/ activities together by members. When participants reflected on the grudges, everybody realized the impact of carrying one in the bodies except that children let it go easily and adults store it more and more over a period of time. “I was asked to clean up when others didn’t do their work. That’s why I am carrying a grudge.” , replied a 6 year old. We must realize that everybody understands. Its just that our language with young kids is more from a “Cute / tantrum perspective” and a young teen is a perception from a brat/ mixed time perspective. If we can treat individuals as unique irrespective of their age and change/ adapt the way we communicate/ respond to them, the divide between adults and children is completely bridged. That is where as adults we can learn a little more about balanced living through the eyes of a child – Simple and profound.
Children discussed the difference between ‘having more’ and ‘being more’ in today’s world and how could they impact the world by simple choices that one opts for. There was quietness at specific junctures of the CORPORitual Workshop as participants heard the impact of fast paced communication on relationships through advertisements, role play and also how we could move to a solution level by “being more” of ourselves first and then contributing more usefully to the environment each in a specific role as a parent and a child.
Thank You Sri Raj Bhowmik for creating this Platform that brings together parents and children – The World surely is a better place when individuals are safe in families and therefore Work by Giving Back just a little bit more each day to who we are to make a better environment that is Useful for others.
